FAQ

What the limits mean

What counts as a recorded hour?

The length of each take, from pressing Record to pressing Stop. It counts once, however many people are in it. A take you cancel during the countdown doesn't count, and neither does re-rendering a finished video.

Hours reset every month: your billing period on a paid plan, the calendar month (UTC) on Free. When the month's hours are used up you can't start a new take until they reset. A take that is already recording is never cut off.

What is a seat?

A seat is a member of your organization: someone who signs in to set up shows, lay out scenes and record. A pending invite holds a seat until it's accepted or withdrawn.

Guests joining from a link never use a seat, and neither does the OBS view.

How many guests can join a recording?

A host and up to three guests, on every plan. Guests join from their browser with no account and no download, and they're always free.

How long are recordings kept?

For your plan's retention period: 3 days on Free, 14 on Creator, 30 on Pro and 60 on Network. After that the take, its finished video and each person's track are deleted automatically, so download anything you want to keep.

What does the watermark look like?

On the Free plan, a small, semi-transparent PodScene logo with podscene.app sits in the top-right corner of the finished video and of the OBS view. The call itself, what you and your guests see while talking, has no watermark. Paid plans have no watermark at all.

The plan you're on when a video is rendered decides, so upgrading doesn't remove the mark from videos that were already finished.
