Recordings and downloads
Every take becomes a finished video in your layout, plus one track per person for editing.

Find your recordings
Click Recordings on a scene in Home, or in the Studio. Takes are listed newest first. Right after you stop a take it shows Processing… while PodScene renders it. A link to the finished video also appears in the Studio when it's ready.
What you can download
- The finished video
- Click Download composite. It's the episode as it looked in your layout: names on screen, background, layout switches and screen shares, with your intro at the start and your outro at the end.
- Each person's track
- Under Tracks, download the host's and each guest's own recording, and any screen share, as separate MP4 files (H.264 video, AAC audio, constant 30 fps). Use these if you want to edit the episode yourself.
Click Preview to watch a take in the browser before downloading it. You can also rename a take. People with Full control can delete one.
How long recordings are kept
Each take shows when it expires. After that date it's deleted automatically: the finished video and every track. How long that is depends on your plan:
| Plan | Recordings kept |
|---|---|
| Free | 3 days |
| Creator | 14 days |
| Pro | 30 days |
| Network | 60 days |
Download what you want to keep. PodScene is where you record, not where you archive. Expired recordings can't be recovered.
Recorded hours
Each take counts toward your plan's recorded hours for the month, from pressing Record to pressing Stop, once however many people are in it. A take cancelled during the countdown doesn't count. Home shows how much you've recorded this month. See Pricing for each plan's hours.
Watermark
On the Free plan, finished videos carry a small PodScene mark in the top-right corner. The tracks don't. The plan you're on when a take is rendered decides, so upgrading doesn't remove the mark from videos that were already finished.
If something looks wrong
- The take says Incomplete
- Someone closed their window before their recording finished uploading, so their part ends early. Ask guests to keep the window open until it says their recording is saved.
- The take says Failed
- The finished video couldn't be rendered. Email support@podscene.app with the show, the scene and the time of the take.
